Happy New Year! Unfortunately there wasn’t an automatic switch for all the craziness of 2020 to go away at midnight on New Year’s Eve. We are still in a pandemic and needing to take precautions outside the house. Brian and I have loved going to local places that we know are doing a good job of safely serving and social distancing tables and patrons. Here are some of the spots we hit!

Tornado Room – escargot and scallops on top of scalloped mashed potatoes.

Settle Down Tavern – all of the cocktails here look amazing! Will have to go back to try more.

Plain Spoke Cocktails – super fun tiki bar in downtown Madison.

Cafe Hollander – some of my favorite cheese curds in Madison that pair perfectly with the smash burger slider appetizer.

bartaco – Super heated patio that allows for outdoor seating. New avocado secret taco.

Migrants Takeout – nachos, quesadilla, torta and horchata.

Shake Shack – The Brownie Batter Hot Cocoa Milkshake is as decadent as it sounds. Delicious in general but extra incredible during a certain time of the month at the height of my chocolate cravings.

We won’t be going very many places in February since we are getting married!! Gotta be extra careful leading up to wedding weekend and we will be cooking the whole time while we are there rather than hitting restaurants. Cheers to yummy food and love this month!
