Our industry friends took us to Saltie Girl when we visited them in Boston. We told them we wanted amazing seafood and this place definitely lived up to that. My husband I are huge fans of oysters, crab, lobster and shrimp. The more shellfish the better. One of my favorite menu items in the world is beef tartare. I will search out restaurants that serve it so that I can try it. Our friends talked very highly of the tartare at Saltie Girl. With all the seafood and the tartare on the menu, I was so stoked to go to this restaurant.
The whole meal was incredible! We drank Lucien Albrecht rosé which paired gorgeously with the seafood. We also did oyster shell shots of Johnnie Walker Black with the oyster brine.
The Grande Seafood Tower includes 12 oysters, 4 littlenecks, 4 top necks, 4 shrimp, jonah crab salad, lobster cocktail and tuna poke. Everything tasted so fresh. The mignonette and hot sauce are served in dropper bottles which is genius!
The warm spicy crab roll was delicious.
The hand-chopped dry aged steak tartare was out of this world. Definitely one of the best versions of this dish that I have had. It is served with quail egg, truffle aioli, reggiano and buttered brioche. When it is served, you can’t even see the steak. Then you mix it all up and there is a flavor explosion.
The charred octopus is served with spicy nduja, fingerling potatoes, fennel and cress. My picture of the dish is blurry because I was so excited to start eating it!
We also did the hot lobster rolls which were buttery and perfect. This was on the top of our list for our New England trip. Mission accomplished.
Saltie Girl is a great spot if you want amazing seafood in Boston!
